1/ OMG OMG I'm sorry but you'll have to deal with me being terribly happybouncynervous today, because at 6.30 this morning, my best friend called to tell me she'd just gone into labor. If everything goes well, she'll give birth to her beautiful baby boy today and I'm so very happy for her I feel like bursting. I just wish there was anything I could do to make the whole thing easier for her.
ETA: He's here! Baby Levin has just been born. He and his proud mama are happy and healthy and I'm actually crying with joy. I'm an honorary aunt now! :)

2/ I'm in the process of reading my way through the flist, so if you haven't received feedback on your stories from me by now, expect it some time today. Yay for some quality reading time!

3/ (a) I finally managed to get my hands on the Supernatural pilot, and I absolutely loved it. I knew I was going to like it the second I spotted David Nutter's name in the opening credits, but now I have the feeling I might get really hooked on this. Hee.
(b) So... maybe I have a thing for gaycest. Which is only one reason why I'd like to second randomalia's rec for Said the Joker to the Thief by traveller. It's Sam/Dean, NC-17, and the sheer hot beauty of it just took my breath away.

4/ This is the first time in months that I'm not wildly excited at the prospect of a new BSG episode. Resurrection Ship jarred me; in a way, I felt cheated by the second part, by how easily it all came together in the end, how none of the moral dilemmas was really brought to a point. I expect there to be some sort of fall-out throughout the next few episodes, especially for Lee, and this is really the only thing I'm looking forward to at this point.

Back from my annual flu break. Nasty one, too, but I'm back on my feet - Doc even green-lighted me for light running, yay! - and eager to play catch up with life. I didn't get much done last week, unless you count OD'ing on Uncertainty Principle and reading my way through both Angels And Demons and The Da Vinci Code, so it'll probably take me a day or two to get up to date with things again. Well, knowing me, more like two. ^__^

Know that feeling when you're trying to write and suddenly you're hit by the sneaking suspicion that your entire vocabulary consists of no more than thirty words? I swear that if I make poor Don say, think or moan God, Charlie one more time I'm going to scream myself hoarse.

And then there's this thing with me and structured fics. I know that I can't write them, that trying to adhere to the structure distracts me from keeping track of the actual content, and yet I seem to possess a self-torturous streak that makes me try and try and try again. It's like running into a brick wall repeatedly, in the stupid and fruitless hope that next time, the wall's going to give. Meh.

Uhm, yeah. Just had to let off some steam. Back to your regular programming now.

Hokay. I don't know if anyone will be interested but... what with Christmas coming up in a few days, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to return some of the love and friendship I've encountered since joining the LJ community. I feel a little very pathetic about that last item. Yeah, sure, I could blame the wonderful comment spam I engaged in until the wee hours of the morning. But really? I was so damn nervous about the reaction to the first real fic I wrote in years I just couldn't get my mind to shut down. And then I get up this morning and look at the stuff other people write and all I can think is 'why do I even bother'? I'll never be that good, not in a million years. Which, I know, is the suckiest attitude I could have about it. It'll pass, though. This is mostly just me feeling pretty jazzed from lack of sleep. And worried about tackling my next fic.

ii (b). There's a poll on Gateworld.net re: which Atlantis character we'd most like to see visit Sg-1. Good old John's leading by a large margin, of course, but I voted for Ronon. Cause he'd be a riot. Cameron and him would be snarking at each other like whoa, and I'd be a very happy camper indeed.

iii. Why isn't there a mood icon for feeling dizzy? I seem to remember seeing that mood around, but now that I could actually use it, it's nowhere to be found. Conspiracy!

iv. Comments: will be answered tomorrow. The Muse has other plans for tonight, or so I hope. Current backlog: 44. 0.o

v. I want need crave new BSG eps like you wouldn't believe. Where's my beautiful Lee you heartless network bosses, huh?
